Have you ever thought of using a quiz to grow your email list? If not, I highly recommend it. It’s fun, interactive, and you can still use it to lead your ideal clients through the client buying journey.

So I wanted to take a few minutes in this blog to show you just how I use a quiz for lead generation and how to create your own using Interact Quizzes.

Let’s get to it!

Who is the quiz for?

My quiz is designed for online business owners who are struggling with their systems and automations. The quiz guides them to audit the systems in their business so they can determine where to start when it comes to streamlining their processes.

At the end of the quiz. they go to a response page that tells them which system they should start with and gives them a free tool they can use to take action on their new system today.

Here’s what the Audit Your Systems Quiz looks like:

How does the quiz work?

The quiz takes you through 10 short questions asking you about different systems in your business and how you feel they are working. For example, how do you feel about your content workflow and do you feel behind on our day-to-day tasks.

This allows the quiz to determine where you need help when it comes to setting up your systems. Are you just getting started and you need help with a project management tool? Or are you further along in your business and you’re ready to start documenting your systems so you can hire a team?

Interact is such an easy tool to use for quizzes like this. For each question, you’ll map your responses to the result that it goes with. So at the end of the quiz, the result is automatically determined based on the quiz takers answers. You don’t have to manually figure any of it out! 🤯

What happens after a quiz is completed

After someone completes the quiz, I have an opt-in form set up asking for their email address before they get the results. It’s important to keep in contact with the people who take your quiz, which is why we want to use the quiz to grow our email list.

The best part about this is that it connects directly to my email service, ConvertKit, so I can continue to nurture them after they take the quiz and implement the business recommendations the quiz provides.

After someone opts in, they are shown their quiz results page explaining what system they need to focus on first and a few first steps to get started. In this example, the quiz taker is struggling with their schedule and getting things done on time, so they’ve gotten some tips on how to organize their calendar.

They get an email shortly after that includes their results again, incase they navigate away from the page, and the free tool or template to support them in their next steps. In the example above, they will get a calendar template they can plug and play into their own Google Calendar that outlines a schedule they can mimic and customize.

I am also currently working on adding a small upsell offer that will walk quiz takers through upleveling all of their systems, starting with where they currently are. This will be a great addition because the cost of the upsell will help off set any future ad spend on the quiz!

Results: How the quiz is performing

As of writing this post, this quiz has been live less than a week. So it’s too early to tell how the quiz is performing. However, Interact does have amazing analytics for their quizzes.

You can see how many people have viewed the quiz, how many have started it, how many have completed it, and how many have filled out the lead generation form.

You can also see the breakdown of results. How many have gotten each result and what that percentages is based on the number of people who have completed the quiz. If you choose to use the CTA button on the results pages, you can see how many people have clicked that as well.

Literally all the data you could need is right there!

I am currently promoting the quiz on my website home page, it’s right there under my hook, you can’t miss it. 😉

I also have it as an exit pop up so if someone lands on my site on a page other than my home page, they have a chance to take the quiz before they leave. Within the next week or so, I am going to start promoting it on Pinterest and will likely add it to my Instagram bio as well although I don’t generally use social media for business promo. You never know who might find ya there, right?!

Conclusion:

In the day and age of freebie overload, I mean, who doesn’t have 1000 PDFs they’ve downloaded over the course of their business, I know I do! 🙋🏻‍♀️ quizzes are a great way to break through all that noise.

Instead of giving your new leads another file that just gets lost on their computer, you’re giving them an immediate answer to a question and a way to take action on that solution right then.

And of course with the option for them to give their email address before seeing the results, you can nurture them after they’ve finished the quiz. Follow up with them about how it’s going, are they having trouble implementing, and offering your paid services as an additional solution.

So what’s this system-loving girl’s 2 cents on quizzes? They are a great way to grow your list and your business while providing value for the new members of your community.
